小さいころ、いらなくなった電化製品、壊れた時計とかラジオとか分解してみたことがある人は多いと思う。 大人になって改めてやってみると、自分が昔より賢くなってるのでいろいろ発見もあるし、ちょっとがんばれば改造なんかもできちゃったりする。そうなるともう夢中である。 そんな病気をこじらせて、ラジカセを続々と改造し続けている人に今回は話をきいてきた。作品紹介にかこつけて、分解＆改造の楽しみをみなさんに伝えられたらと思います。 （text by 石川 大樹） マッドサイエンティストの集い きっかけは今回だけでもう2回ほど記事にもなってるMake: Tokyo Meting の会場。このサイトでは通りがいいので「DIYのイベント」とか「電子工作のイベント」とか紹介しているが、実のところ平たくいうとマッドサイエンティスト（とその卵）の集いみたいなものである。

世界一nerdなラジオ局、Linux Radioが放送しているのは「Linuxカーネル」だそうだ（本家/.より）。 音声はオープンソースのテキスト音声変換ソフトウェアであるeSpeakを使って合成されているとのことで、現在は最新安定版である2.6.36.1を放送中だ。ページをロードするとランダムで音声ファイルが選択される仕組みであり、音声ファイルのラインアップは今後もっと増やしていく予定とのこと。 nerd心をくすぐられラジオに耳を傾けた本家/.erも多かったようで、「アスタリスクが多すぎる！」や「5分くらい聞いたけどincludeばっかだった」、また「意外にも心地良い」といった喜びの（？）声が挙がっている。
ブリンキー･パレルモはコンセプチュアルな作家というよりは遥かにペインタリーな仕事をした。一見するとミニマル絵画に見えるかもしれない。しかしミニマルの動向にありがちな工業的な手段や機械的なパターンの規則性それ自身を主張させるような使い方は一切しない。 パレルモの作品について書き出すと長くなるので、あのドイツの国旗の色を使った作品について書いてみよう。 あの作品はクネーベル等と共に米国での展覧会に向けて作られた。現在NYのDia:Beaconに所蔵されている。 私は最初、国旗の色彩、赤、黄、黒を使った連作には面白みを感じなかった。 パレルモの使う形と色彩の詩的なバランスの妙からしたら、何か明白すぎるような、理屈っぽいところで作ったものに思えたからだ。 しかし時間がたつにつれて、あの国旗の作品が気になりだした。他の作品より強く見えるのだ。そこからあることに気づいた。 あの色彩はドイツ国旗であり何
