UIがリフレッシュされたOpera 10 ノルウェー企業のOpera Softwareは1日(現地時間)、「Opera 10」を正式リリースした。ダウンロードサイトから各プラットフォーム対応版が無償で入手できる。対応OSはWindows、Mac OS X (ユニバーサルバイナリ版含む)、Linux。レンダリング速度など全体にパフォーマンスが向上しているほか、新機能Opera Turboにより低速ネットワークでも快適にWebブラウジングできる点が特徴となっている。 Opera 10ではUIが全体にリフレッシュされており、特にタブを引き下げてサイズをカスタマイズしたり、タブの中身をページを開かずに確認できるようになっている。また新規タブを開くと登場するスピードダイヤルはグリッドの表示個数の変更が可能になっており、従来の3×3だけでなく、画面サイズや縦横の比率に合わせて自由にカスタマイズできる。
オペラソフトウェアが新コンセプトの製品「Opera Unite」を発表しました。Opera UniteはOpera 10にWebサーバ機能を組み込んだもので、利用者同士が直接コミュニケーション可能になるコミュニケーションプラットフォームだと、オペラは説明しています。 第三者のWebサーバを必要としないアプリケーション実行環境 オペラがOpera Uniteに期待しているのは、Opera Uniteがプラットフォームとなり、その上に「Opera Unite services」と呼ばれるさまざまなアプリケーションが展開されることです。 現時点でオペラはOpera Unite servicesの例として、自分のPCのファイルを外部から参照できるファイル共有機能を実現する「File Sharing」、写真を共有できる「Photo Sharing」、チャットルームを開ける「The Lounge」など
