Another year, another journal. :V

2023 was a very strange - but not bad! - year. I spent the first half of it still kinda struggling to kick myself back into gear; I was doing writing very slowly, but it was often more reliant on whatever hyperfixation mood my brain was in day by day. My classes didn't really help, since my statistics professor was... flaky, to put it gently. :y I had to take stats since it's a hard requirement for the upper-level PSY classes, but make no mistake, I don't remember shit about it. At least not off the top of my head, right now.

Once I left on my family's summer trip, though, the mental blocks and barriers that were holding me back seemed to crumble completely. I'm still not entirely sure why - maybe it was revisiting a place I hadn't been to in years, maybe it was not having many distractions since I only had my Switch and tablet/phone, maybe it was something else - but it was both exciting and also a relief. In the past six-ish months, I got more writing done than I did all last year and longer. I did hit a bit of a slump this December, but everyone else I know seemed to slip into winter lethargy also, so I'm confident that I can get back to things pretty easily.

Either way, I'm actually happy to admit that I don't really have any specific resolutions in mind for this year. I just want to keep the winds blowing at my back like they have been: completing more of my PSY-major classes, doing more writing and/or doodles, etc etc. I'm feeling optimistic about 2024, and I want to make sure that optimism pans out, come what may.
