[edit]Inherited from Byzantine Greek βαριοῦμαι (barioûmai)[1] from the Ancient Greek βαρέομαι, βαροῦμαι (baréomai, baroûmai), of active βαρέω, βαρῶ (baréō, barô, “weigh down”), from βαρύς (barús, “heavy”).[2] Τhe endings according to the sequence: -οῦμαι > -ιοῦμαι > -ιέμαι.[3].
