Forum:The next PLS
The PLS is over. I'll gladly host it again in June unless somebody else wants to. Anybody wanna? --EMC [TALK] 20:39, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm starting to think that PLS should be once a year. The number of entries seems to be falling (see below), although admittedly the average, or mean, quality has gone up, and PLS and "...otY" and "Best of 200X" is too much happening simultaneously, or at the same time.
- 1rd: 49
- 2th: 68
- 3st: 58
- 4nd: 51
- 5rd: 33
- Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:33, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that the PLS should be an annual or bi-annual thing. Either in the spring and the fall or just in the summer. In the winter it becomes too hectic with year ending jolity and such and such, to the point where it is pushed back and forgotten, hence a lack of entries. -- 23:52, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think then, that, the PLS should be an annual contest held in June/July. Should we have a vote? --EMC [TALK] 00:09, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd personally prefer the summer, because many of our users attend school for the rest of the year, myself included. In the summer, however, I can stay up late and waste time here, and if I feel like it I can come onto the site pretty much anytime during the day, too. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon

- Also, the odor of poo in a bag is more pungent in the heat of the summer. --EMC [TALK] 00:25, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Summer does sound like a good idea. I use Uncyclopedia more during the summer, and I'm sure lots of others do. Also, I'm up for hosting PLS next year, if the offer's still on the table.-Awesome Sauce 01:08, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Moveable Feast....
How about....we move the PLS to February and August (or March and September) of each year, to give a little bit more time post-Xmas. I feel the competition was just a tad too early, given that we had the Aristocrat's Ball only a month or so before, then, as MO has pointed out, all the excitement of the OTY Awards and Best Article of the Year, etc. -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)
- What's up with the Aristocrat's Ball? Was that just a one-time thing? --EMC [TALK] 01:46, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

I'd just like to point out that The Aristocrat's Ball is the love child of myself and Mhaille, and as such, I'd like to maintain some level of control in that contest. You know, masculinity issues and all that. --THINKER 18:01, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
