Welcome

[change source]

Hello, Lizix, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! Gwib 21:51, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User page design

[change source]

I think your user page was blatantly stolen from my user page. Although I won't consider this to be a big issue, could you add in a little note saying that you've copied it off from mine. See User:Zoey and User:Nishkid64 for example. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 01:30, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, fine, but I was going to change the colors and all later. --Lizix 01:32, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

[change source]

Hello! Welcome back to simple english wikipedia. :) Hope to see you around more soon. Cheers, --Isis§(talk) 01:37, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why, thank you! --Lizix 01:39, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:adminship

[change source]

Thank you very much for nomiating me for an RfA. But last month in June, I've nominated myself for adminship but failed with 3 support/5 opposes/1 neutral. See here. Although I appreciating you for nominating me again, aske me later like in September or October. Thanx;) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 01:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've noted Archer7 (our bureaucrat) that I'd be running again after 4 months since my first RfA. See here. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 01:55, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm now known as Snake311 after I asked Archer7 to rename me. I know there are still some "Alastor Moodys" on my user page and talk page, but I tend to be busy to change them all. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 01:57, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Number articles

[change source]

Hi, thank you for creating the article two. We have decided, in this dicussion, that most numbers have a better place in the wiktionary. The wiktionary is a dictionary in simple English. I have therefore nominated two for deletion. I really hope you're not put off by that. Best regards, --rimshottalk 12:25, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Huji took away the deletion tag and expanded. :) --Isis§(talk) 12:30, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Naturally, that's another way out. --rimshottalk 12:40, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, this is all cleared up. Anyone need to say more? --Lizix 17:26, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do you start your own Wiki

[change source]

I'm afraid I don't really know. Why do you ask?--Brett 01:55, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevmind, I started mine @ scribblewiki. But didn't you start Wiktionary? --Lizix 02:00, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your new articles

[change source]

Hello, Lizix! I think you might find the Manual of Style useful when making new articles. Also, try to make sure that the articles you are creating are not merely dictionary definitions. Let me know if I can help. Thanks! · Tygartl1·talk· 02:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Lindsey! I was reading it, and also reading WP:NOT, but I wasn't sure how to put articles, so I just created to fill. So this definitely helps, again, thank you so very much for helping out! --Lizix 03:29, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

[change source]
Barnstar Congratulations: You have been given a Barnstar!

For contributing to articles related to Argentina and Argentinians, and making a better Basic English encyclopædia over all. j. rand

How do you want your signature personalised? Tell me what font face/typeface (id est. courier, times new roman, arial, et cetera), and what colors, and I'll gladly do it for you :) j. rand|talk| ε contribs|email 14:47, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do you need help with typefaces or colors? j. rand|talk| ε contribs|email 04:22, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Signatures

[change source]

One way to do it is to create a signature page (for example, user:Lizix/sig). You can then create a signature using different colors and add links to your talk pages, contributions, etc. To sign with your custom signature, you would put {{subst:user:Lizix/sig}} ~~~~~. Signing with 5 tildes (~) instead of 4 adds just the time and date. Hope this helps! · Tygartl1·talk· 20:43, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can also type out the signature source code in your settings. You do this by typing whatever your signature source code is (for example: [[User:Lizix|Lizix]] for a plain signature) in the nickname box and then clicking the "raw signatures" box. However, I find it to be extremely strict about html tags (like <i> for italics), so you might be better off with the subpage. Thanks.

e-mail?

[change source]

Hello, Lizix. :) On your userpage, it says "...for more information, e-mail me", but you have not specified an e-mail adress and/or have chosen not to let other users e-mail you. I suggest that you remove that statement from your userpage or put in an e-mail adress. thanks. --Isis§(talk) 01:49, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit count

[change source]

That wasn't vandalism. I meant the number of edits I made to Wikipedia's articles. Panda Bear 22:09, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again! I suggest you check the EnWP entry for Gastroenteritis, and you'll see it's a disease. Diseases is an extremely broad term, flu being one of them. Hope this helps! :) Love, Phaedriel - 04:02, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:David g.

[change source]

I just did it as an experiment, to see what effects it had on WP Admins. It was bad, and I won't do it again. I am not and I repeat NOT a sockpuppet of S-man, or another user. I AM a kid, and 11 years old. Sorry, ionas talk contribs 00:14, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am just very smart. I am not a sockpuppet, and I am not 9 or 10, I am 11. Although we may have many simmilarities (exempli gratia, both learned to read at 2), we are not the same person. I wouldn't start a "vandal club" with a girl I didn't know. I really am 11, and I'm not sure about him. I uploaded a picture on Commons and put it on my userpage of me winning a spelling bee, ask the sysop on en.wp called "Jersey Devil". ionas talk contribs 01:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I went to English Wikipedia and found his User talk page history and found it. Also, I don't make up these relatives and meatpuppets like Ionas' home for Imaginary Friends.ionas talk contribs 02:19, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To your question, no I don't have anymore sockpuppets. I will not do this anymore, BUT I will not take that information off my page. Yes, I have seen to Catch a Predator, but I do not think that such people can track me with the information given. The info is just Ionas D. Rand, 11 years old, living in Vegas, NV. That is not too much. Also, by comparing me to Kimberly Ashton, are you saying I am suspected as a sockpuppet? I am not anything to do with this S-man/Kimberly Ashton/Insert_name_here/Cute 1 4 u thing. I will stop creating sockpuppets, but will not stop my trusting behavior. I am not Kim Ashton. ionas talk contribs 21:18, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hate to be rude, but:

"Can you just take it as coincidence and leave it be? Don't poke holes. It's not like that is "damning evidence". Did S-man ever reveal his name? It is not a high possibility that it was "Ionas". I got that info here. Do not lie to me. ionas talk contribs"

That is where the info is on S-man's talk page. ionas talk contribs 07:38, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Age limits

[change source]

Not that I'm questioning your methods, but why did you make Ionas remove his age "until next year"? Why is 12 a particlarly favoured age over any other?
Gwib-(talk)- 07:45, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, that explains it. I still wonder why they're blocked. They're trying to make their userpage more personal to themselves and doing this is a blockable offence..
Gwib-(talk)- 18:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
p.s. No, I don't think you or anyone is stupid, it was just a fun little thing my art teachers used to tell me when I drew :)

Question

[change source]

Have you seen the Star Wars movies? --Isis§(talk) 17:42, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think she was asking because a padawan is a rank of jedi in the Star Wars movies. · Tygartl1·talk· 17:57, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, man, you've been missing out. I love sci-fi (Stargate, Star Wars, etc). And, it may have seemed random, but Tygartl1 explained it. I asked in response to your comment on Phaedriel's talk page. BTW, Padawan is a Jedi-in-training, sort of like an apprentice. :) Cheers, --Isis§(talk) 19:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ouch, so sorry it took me so long to get back to you, dear Lizix - it's just, I'm not in a very talkative mood today... please forgive me :( And yes, Padawan's exactly what Isis said... the line is a joke alluding to Yoda's way of talking. Old joke, but appropriate nevertheless ;) I hope you're having a great Summer! Love, Phaedriel - 08:11, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Language nut

[change source]

You're a language nut, are you? Here's a website of a language course I discovered some time ago. It's Unforgettable Languages. There is something unique about the course. Just visit the website to find out. Oh, and you may want to learn Mandarin. It's the most widely spoken language. Panda Bear 18:55, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanksies!!!! ((I know it's dorky, but it's a "girl thing" in my school :)--:::::::::Lizix::::::::: (u · t · c) 04:41, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't think you said I was dumb. I said that because, people will just think I'm a dumb adult, because no one will know I am a kid. ionas talk contribs 03:05, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know. I am experienced in the field of phonetics and phonics. ionas talk contribs 04:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I do not care if you remove that, I just don't see how one would track down where I am because Las Vegas has more than 500,000 people.ionas talk contribs 04:46, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
