Umm Habiba
Ramla bint Abi sufyan(umme Habiba)
Ramla bint Abi Sufyan ibn Harb, also known as Umm Habiba, was one of the wives of the Islamic prophet Muhammad .
- She was born in 589 or 594 CE, the daughter of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb and Safiyyah bint Abi al-'As.
- She was a member of the Quraysh tribe and the sister of Muawiyah I, the first Umayyad caliph.
- She married Ubayd Allah ibn Jahsh and was one of the earliest converts to Islam.
- She migrated to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) with her husband and daughter, Habibah.
- After her husband's death, she married the Prophet Muhammad through a marriage contract conducted by the Negus of Abyssinia.
- She lived in Medina and was known for her piety, narrating around 65 hadiths of Muhammad.
- She passed away in 664 or 665 CE and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi cemetery next to other wives of Muhammad.
