Quett Ketumile Joni Masire, GCMG (23 July 1925 – 22 June 2017) was a Botswana politician. He was the second President of Botswana for the Botswana Democratic Party from 1980 to 1998 serving for 17 years.[1] He was born in Kanye.
Masire died in Gaborone, Botswana on 22 June 2017 from surgical complications at the age of 91.[2]
