1998 Earthquake
[eedit | eedit soorce]Campero wis the epicenter o an earthquake which struck on 1998-05-22. The earthquake wi a force of 6.6 on the Richter scale caused over 100 deaths and thoosans wur left hameless. It wis the lairgest shallae earthquake in Bolivie in ower 50 year, an wis felt as far awa as Cochabamba an Sucre (approximately 100 km).[1]
The earthquake caused widespread damage ower an aurie o approximately 100 km in diameter. The major touns affectit wur Hoyadas (100% o the biggins destroyed), Aiquile (75% o the biggins destroyed) an Totora (70% o the biggins destroyed).[1]
