Norwegian section needs some work

[editar]

Hi Teodor!

Can you take a look at the Norwegian part of this entry? There is a mix of Bokmål and Nynorsk, noun and verb, apparently three different spellings, I'm not too sure what to do with it...

Thanks.

They seem all right. The person who made the entries took his or her time to document them too. It's always difficult when an anonymous editor writes good stuff but stops contributing before a dialogue can be established. The entry is still a bit difficult to improve in a satisfactory way. The nn language uses more diacritical marks than nb (my language) so I can't just go and fix this one right away. I will change the entry into nn but I am not sure how much else I can contribute with. Teodor (dc) 21h09min de 17 de agosto de 2022 (UTC)Responder
Hi Teodor!
FYI: the word pata in Portuguese is polysemic, it means both "female duck" as you guessed as well as "foot/leg of animal", so we can say something like "O cachorro tem quatro patas" ("the dog has four legs").

So, if the sense was really leg of an animal (like in Spanish, which I speak), methinks the pata entry should not have beeen categorised as zoology but rather anatomy or something.
.
I think it's best if I start with doing some easier changes for a little while. I am of course happy to help but I don't want to mess things up more than they already were ;) Teodor (dc) 21h53min de 18 de agosto de 2022 (UTC)Responder
It seems you were the one who made the translation section on 21. jun. 2011 :)
.
Now I actually found a reference to support the translation:) https://ordbokene.no/nn/46405/loke. It means a big hand or a paw.So it means the end piece of a leg, not the entire leg.
.
At some point it would be advisable to have a template that links to the above dictionary and also to have the template split between nb and nn. I don't think it is urgent, and you probably have a lot on your plate anyway. Maybe @Malafaya could do it? He or she has helped me once before on something that I couldn't accomplish myself. Hi Teodor!
Oh man! 2011?! I have no idea which dictionary I used to create that list of translations...
Malafaya is a he, he used to help us quite a bit, but he has been absent for a while from the project.
Yes, we should create those templates and split the languages. One more task into the basket. I have no idea when I'll be able to do that...
