George Soros
George Soros (born August 12, 1930) is a Hungarian-American billionaire investor and philanthropist. Known as the "man who broke the Bank of England" due to his short sale of US$10 billion worth of British pounds in 1992, he's the founder of Soros Fund Management, a private investment firm. Aside from his investment acumen, Soros is renowned for his philanthropic endeavors, particularly through the Open Society Foundations, which supports civil rights and social justice initiatives worldwide. Born in Budapest, Soros survived Nazi occupation and later emigrated to England, where he graduated from the London School of Economics.
