 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Doanri (talk) 14:21, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm UtherSRG. I noticed that you recently removed content from Tibetan Buddhism without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.   Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Qianlong Emperor did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Remsense 03:16, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Eejit43. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Shi Ping (politician), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 03:19, 10 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, you may be blocked from editing. The categories you are deleting are largely supported by citations. They're not violating the neutrality policies as you have claimed.Czello (music) 09:46, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Amigao (talk) 14:30, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Don't remove {{Infobox Chinese}} from articles. It's not redundant. Also, stop piping to "official names" of articles. We use WP:COMMONNAMES on Wikipedia, and it's generally best just to use the name of the article. What you're doing is a bit of POV pushing in effect. Thanks. Remsense 12:23, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use misleading edit summaries when making changes to Wikipedia pages. This behavior is viewed as disruptive, and continuation may result in loss of editing privileges. The pages you are removing from have citations that support this characterization. And you removed them pretty quickly in sequence, so I'm not sure you took the time to check. Please consider discussing on the talk page beforehand in any case. Remsense 04:07, 5 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Once again, we do not care about "official" names for things on Wikipedia, we care about COMMONNAMES. Consistently changing nomenclature regardless of site norms is disruptive. Please stop. Remsense 10:41, 5 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

How on earth can you justify an edit like this one, then? It is completely unacceptable and you will not be permitted to continue editing if some of them look like this. Remsense 06:19, 1 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
it was just a joke and i definitely thought someone will revert it... Coddlebean (talk) 06:21, 1 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you really think that's a good excuse, I hate to break it to you that it's extremely likely that another edit like that will get you blocked immediately. Vandals hurt the project and we don't need them around, full stop. Remsense 06:23, 1 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
