The purpose belongs in the definition, which has to be at the very beginning of the lead. My pocket Webster's says "oven = a receptacle or compartment for baking, drying, or heating. Our article lacks this essential bit, and it shows, as the text seems to concentrate only on cooking. Or is "masonry oven" a clear, well-established phrase which only refers to cooking ovens?
