Notes
editAgronomy does not include Agriculture. Like in french and german Wikipedia, we can redirect agronomy portal to Agropedia portal. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.121.8.14 (talk • contribs) 12:30, 2 October 2005 (UTC).
Whatever you say, but you have no rights to replace a existing good portal by a barely started one. Portal is not an article, where you can do with a stub. mikka (t) 18:46, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
- The salvageable content from Portal:Agronomy has now been merged into Portal:Agropedia. Brisvegas 02:03, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
The name is now Portal:Agriculture and Agronomy. See discussion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Agropedia Arlen22 (talk) 13:00, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Transcluded list
editList of agriculture topics was transcluded at the bottom of this portal. That was hideous, don't transclude entire pages onto this page! Especially that one! It added nothing to what this page already is about.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 06:35, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Aerial application
editI´ve learned that aerial application is still a ecological and economic method in NZ due to the hilly surface. Is it still in use somewhere else in the world? Please answer at Talk:Aerial_application#Aerial application vs. sprayers, thank you. 84.173.215.143 (talk) 21:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Popular pages report
editI have requested a popular pages report to be included at WikiProject Agriculture/Popular pages. Arlen22 18:08, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Retitle?
editPer the mfd discussion Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Agropedia, has anyone decided on what title this should be moved to? -- Ϫ 18:06, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Done Result was to move to "Portal:Agriculture and Agronomy" -- Ϫ 01:31, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Sustainable agriculture
editThe current text does not define or describe sustainable agriculture. Rather, it only mentions what SA is not. Ben (talk) 13:02, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
Move discussion in progress
editThere is a move discussion in progress on Portal talk:Molecular and Cellular Biology which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 13:45, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Selected article subpage
editOn Portal:Agriculture and agronomy/Selected article there is Portal:Agriculture and agronomy/Selected article/23 which has its own reference list tag. Is that a mistake? Also, why are there numbers 32 through 50? I am assuming that 1 to 31 are used because there are at most 31 days in a month. Doesn't that mean that 32 to 50 will never be used? I can delete them as housekeeping which would cleanup the /Selected article subpage. Jason Quinn (talk) 05:33, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Jason Quinn: These aren't daily subpages. The portal uses this coding:
{{Random portal component|max=31|header=''Selected article''||subpage=Selected article}}
which picks one of the subpages 1-31 at random. There is no need to remove subpages 32 onwards, as they are ready and waiting for someone to fill them in and increase the "max" parameter. - But the references are a mess. Following this discussion I added a note to the portal guidelines, which has stood for a few months now. I recommend fixing reference errors in portals by simply removing the references, as, in theory, everything should be referenced in the linked articles. -- John of Reading (talk) 05:53, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- (More) I have taken the page out of several error categories by removing the references. -- John of Reading (talk) 06:26, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
Using Title Case
editShould not the title of this Portal be Agriculture and agronomy (instead of Agronomy) per WP:MoS? Discuss. Cheers! {{u|Checkingfax}} {Talk}

Requested move 1 October 2016
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: This could have been filed at WP:RMT as uncontroversial. Procedurally closing early (non-admin closure) — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 00:55, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Portal:Agriculture and Agronomy → Portal:Agriculture and agronomy – Wikipedia naming conventions clearly state: "Do not capitalize the second or subsequent words in an article title, unless the title is a proper name." (such as Portal:Business and economics and Portal:Social and political philosophy). Tamara Tloftibê (talk) 14:14, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
