Hello! regarding Illacme (Genus), this is redundant to the existing redirect Illacme. If you wish to create an article for the genus (or for the species Illacme tobini) you should expand the redirect (edit and replace the redirect with text), not create redundant articles. Note also that when titles are disambiguated, they should be generally be in lowercase per WP:TITLEFORMAT, unless the disambiguator is a proper noun. Cheers, --Animalparty! Dwardius, Pseudocorax species

[edit]

In the case of species in a paleontologically extinct genus, standard practice on Wikipedia is not to create separate articles for each species, but to leave the binomials as redirects to the article on the extinct genus. Plantdrew (talk) 03:02, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Anachronist. I noticed that you recently removed content from Opah without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:38, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

We do not put both parent and child categories on the same article (except in very special cases that don't apply to the articles you've been changing). See Wikipedia:Categorization. So we don't have e.g. Category:Spiders described in 1900 and Category:Animals described in 1900 because the former is a subcategory of the latter. So please fix the changes like this that you made. Redirects

[edit]

Hi PigeonJesus! I noticed your edit on Callistoctopus and went ahead and created a redirect to the new article you created from the octopus' scientific name, here. You can see a template filled with common reasons that redirects are made at Template:R template index. Help:Redirect and Wikipedia:Redirect have more information if you haven't come across redirects before. Rhinopias (talk) 22:33, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi PigeonJesus, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! -- Lofty abyss 19:14, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cladonota machinula

[edit]

Hi! There aren't enough sources right now for individual species of Cladonota to be listed as standalone articles (Flynn's reviews of the topic are the only ones that come to mind), but the information that's currently in the article can be added to List of Cladonota species! However, if you have more to write about this species in particular, feel free to keep and expand the article. Have a nice day! 😊 Chaotıċ Enby (talk · contribs) 10:43, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
