Question from Leopapayon (02:26, 1 November 2024)
[edit]Hello Mujinga, I have a question, i'm trying to make a page about a Taiwanese animated series which is really obscure and some cites are in chinese, it's called "Brave Animated Series" and i ask you, is acceptable use cites in chinese in the page despite not having so much references in english? --Leopapayon (talk) 02:26, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Leopapayon thanks for stopping by and welcome to wikipedia. Are we talking about Draft:Brave_Animated_Series? Nor having references in English is not necessarily a problem, but the sources in other languages must be high quality. I don't speak or read what I'm assuming is Taiwanese Mandarin, but i can see Facebook and IMDB mentioned in the citations. Neither are considered reliable sources because they are mostly user generated with no editorial control, per Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#Facebook and Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#IMDb. Hope that helps! Mujinga (talk) 09:48, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- The reason why Facebook and IMDB are mentioned is because there are not so many information of the series, so I used the information of the facebook account, and for the IMDB critics is because there not exist critics in sites like metacritic or rotten tomatoes. Leopapayon (talk) 01:04, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Leopapayon this is one of the tough things to understand when starting to edit wikipedia - if the reliable sources aren't there, then the series probably isn't notable in terms of having its wikipedia article. that's no judgement on the series itself, it's just the way wikipedia works. imdb and facebook are generally not acceptable sources per what i said above. hope that helps. Tagging people in change logs
[edit]hey Munjinga! So just a few minutes ago I fixed some vandalism on a page and I was trying to @ the person who did it (eg. "Reverted vandalism by (@username)" and was wondering how I @ the person (sorry if I worded that weirdly I can elaborate on what I mean if needed) Benamin16 (talk) 01:34, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Benamin16! Great job fixing that vandalism. To mention someone on Wikipedia, you use their username in double brackets like this: @
[[User:Username|Username]]
. So in your edit summary, you could write something like: "Reverted vandalism by @[[User:Example|Example]]." Hope this helps! - Cheers, (a friendly TP stalker) Macrobreed2 (talk) 19:06, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes what Macrobreed2 said! Thanks for passing by both of you. Mujinga (talk) 19:14, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help! Benamin16 (talk) 00:21, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

User name
[edit]Hello dear mentor,
I wish to change my name here, as I find my current user name very impersonal. Is that possible? Thank you very much. 40S9350144 (talk) 16:31, 13 November 2024 (UTC)

Good GA!
[edit]Kudos on getting Pat Gros to GA! The UFF is a fascinating bit of militant history that often gets overshadowed by the other currents in the period. I had the chance to interview Levasseur once and ever since I've wished our coverage of the group on-wiki was higher quality; happy to see that start to change. :) Generalissima (talk) (it/she) 17:41, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Generalissima that's kind of you to say. I bet Levasseur was a character, is it possible to read the review? No worries if you don't want to share for whatever reason. Have you read Diana Block's 'Arm the spirit'? That's a very interesting feminist account of another underground group from the same time. Mujinga (talk) 18:21, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
