The template states:

...or because it has been released into the public domain and posted on the official websites of a member of Congress.

Has anyone actually verified this is true? What if a Congressperson obtains permission to place a copyrighted image on his web site from the copyright holder. The mere act of placing it on the web page doesn't turn the image into a public domain one, does it? That doesn't strike me as correct. howcheng {chat} 16:45, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
