[edit]Eating animals having more legs is thought to be worse.
This isn't very clear. More legs than what and worse than what? 57.135.233.22 (talk) 00:34, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- It is explained by "eating mammals is worse than eating chickens or fish". WilbaAtWikipedia (talk) 10:30, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
"they pace Montaigne"?
[edit]What does that mean? Is it a typo? I can't make any sense of it... WilbaAtWikipedia (talk) 09:47, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Makes no sense at all. The quote is taken from an obscure paper by Justin Leiber in 1988 [1]. I doubt the user that originally added this paper read the paper, they may have copied it from Daniel Dennett who probably got the quote wrong [2]. If you search online for this quote, the only hits you get are from Daniel Dennett who has put the quote in many of his publications. It is a cherry-picked quote missing various bits of text. I would be interested in knowing what Leiber really said. Unfortunately I don't have access to his 1988 paper. It's might be worth asking someone that has access to it so we can fact check the source. Psychologist Guy (talk) 18:25, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- The same quote has also been copied to the animal consciousness article. Psychologist Guy (talk) 18:27, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
