The Park Library at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will host Newspapers in North Carolina Edit-a-thon.
The edit-a-thon is open to the public. We will improve current and historic N.C. newspaper entries in Wikipedia, focusing on smaller circulation papers and African American papers. All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject needed. Library resources will be on hand along with a list of suggested topics.

- Experienced or new Wikipedians (We will provide assistance with Wikipedia formatting and syntax.).
- Amateur historians or research pros (We will have a selection of resources and a mini reference desk available for your use. We can also pull additional materials from the UNC Libraries collections as needed.).
- UNC faculty, staff, and students.

- Create an account ahead of time here: Create a Wikipedia Editor Account. (Pseudonyms are encouraged, as is an email for password recovery.) Volunteers will also be available onsite to help you create an account.

- Enter Carroll Hall through the side entrance near Phillips Hall Annex. Volunteers will be there to greet you.
