- Primary bottleneck: sponsorship.
- Structure: consensus against incorporation and formal structure for now. Not necessary for the baby step we envision in the immediate future.
- Focus on New York metropolitan area, but open to anyone who can attend meetings
- Next meeting: Sunday, January 13, 2008, 2:30p, @ 1402 Pupin Hall, Columbia University. Take the elevator to the 13th floor and then walk up one flight of stairs. Meeting to be held in the library at the east end of the hall.

- Advertising future meetups in the press, free public access television ads
- Photography contest (open to general public; free-content photos at a particular event or location or of a particular subject, winners get small cash prize)
- Post-meetup addendum: User:Pharos, User:Jeremyb, User:Chaser fortuitously ran into a technology representative from the Brooklyn Museum at the post-meetup, who expressed interest in a joint project
