This was the first news Doyle's family received that he had been repatriated to England but he had lost a leg.

This photo was provided by my Grandfather, John E. Doyle.

This photo appeared in his autobiography, "My Life On Wings" in 1991.

This book was published in a limited quantity by Michael Quinion Associates, Thornbury, Bristol, BS12 1SE, England.
