[edit]From Javanese ꦫꦺꦏꦪꦱ (rekayasa), from Sanskrit रेखा (rekhā, “drawing, sketch”) + यशस् (yaśas, “glory, honour, splendor”). Coined by Indonesian linguist Anton Moedardo Moeliono.
