Etymology

Well maybe it's just me but I like to keep things as simple as possible. I mean if it's possible, we should split only as much as necessary and not talk about long compound suffixes when unnecessary. At vakolat we have vakol+at, but we could also have vak+o+lat, as we have an entry for -lat.

I don't say this always works as there are indeed words where the -z verb does not exist, like homlokzat. I guess those were invented in the language reform. Qorilla 20:57, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

I am trying to look up etymology in Hungarian etymology dictionaries. Vakolat is from vakol and vakol is probably from wacken, not from the Hungarian vak (blind). But the -l is definitely a Hungarian verb suffix. --Panda10 21:29, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
