Steel Funk is the six six sixth album by The Beatles. The album is often viewed as one of the most influential albums in rock history, as the group moved on from performing Pop songs and let their creative sides flourish. Nobody knows where this creative inspiration came from all of a sudden, but it is agreed that Steel Funk changed the face of music forever. The album was butchered in the United States, keeping the title, but sending the reject songs to appear on the infamous 1966 album Tomorrow and Three Weeks Ago.

Production[edit | edit source]

By the end of filming the 1965 slasher film Hell!, their second theatrical feature, Beatles producer George Martin convinced the group at gunpoint that they were going to release an album, and perform an American tour (Remembered best for the Concert At Shea Stadium). In late 1964, while visiting New York City, American-folk singer Bob Dylan had turned the 4 onto the rising fad of Kitten Huffing, this no doubt had a profound effect on the band's music. In the album's track "Churl", John Lennon is said to be mimicking the sound of a kitten being huffed in between verses.
