Image:Vthapsus_sheet.JPG

[edit]

Hi Circeus - saw you'd uploaded Image:Vthapsus_sheet.JPG. Unfortunately, it isn't public domain, as it isn't "a faithful photographic reproduction of an original two-dimensional work of art" - it is a derived work, with copyright dating from the date the photo was taken, and belonging to the NHM photographer. Sorry, but it'll have to be deleted! - MPF 01:06, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Circeus; I moved the discussion to Commons:Deletion_requests/Image:Vthapsus_sheet.JPG just now. I hope you don't mind this informal note. I'm curious to read what others have to say. Walter Siegmund (talk) 04:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Circeus!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Rename conflict

[edit]

Hi Circeus, I am sorry, something went wrong with BSicon KBSTr.-C.svg and BSicon KBSTr-C.svg. I saw that the name may be wrong and uploaded a new KBSTr-C, and set the {{Badname}}-request for KBSTr.-C. Later then some tool tried in vain to rename. The situation requires now some other activity to get the desired result. I leave it to you, to avoid another conflict. -- sarang사랑 16:55, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BSICON vs. BSicon

[edit]

At least three casing mistakes, starting here. Uppercase "icon" doesn’t work with the templates:   (vSTRl+e). Can you take care of this, since you made the renaming request? -- Tuválkin 20:16, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any further thought about the SPL root? (Then   (vSTRl+4e) would become   (SPLl+4e).) Useddenim (talk) 00:41, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What can I say? I don't _like_ the SPL root. I think it's redundant and doesn't even solve the problem we'd run into if we ever have to combine partial tunnels or elevated tracks with a split. That is, a new root should reduce the number of affixes, and all this one does (far as I can from your edit to my proposal) is remove the v- (which I believe should not happen anyway), so I find it unnecessary.
Also, I honestly would rather you discuss these kind of things on the talk pages first (unless it's minor stuff, a new root is NOT minor). Circeus (talk) 01:39, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that I would run it past you first, as you have been putting a lot of thought recently into the renaming of BSicondom.
And no problem with partial tunnel or elevated tracks:   (vSTRa) +    (hNULe) =   (hSPLae). Useddenim (talk) 14:23, 28 November 2011 (UTC)(renamed) -- Tuválkin 23:43, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Then what of   (vSTRa)+  (hLGDa) or   (vSTRe)+   (hLGDa)? I don't want to change the name if it doesn't fix these problems in advance (as currently vSTRa/e does not really conflict with anything, so I'm calling upon "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"). Circeus (talk) 16:41, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Guys, you don’t want to move this to its proper place? -- Tuválkin 17:13, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, you’re doing it already. :-) Maybe moving Circeus’ coments thereon too? -- Tuválkin 17:18, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I saw it as a discussion between him and me about aspects of my proposal that did not belong to the open forum. Circeus (talk) 20:06, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
