File talk:Nuvola Italy flag.svg
Colors
[edit]Nummer 12, you and Bender82 keep reverting my version of the file to the initial version, because that version has "better colors". As I said the very first time I uploaded my version, I used the colors from File:Flag of Italy.svg, which are the colors specified by the Italian government (there were enough discussions about these colors at File talk:Flag of Italy.svg). If you want the colors changed, please explain why the colors from the old version are better, instead of just saying that the "color red in my svg is not good".
The colors seem lighter than they are because of the shadow; if you look at File:Nuvola Dutch flag.svg and cover the left two thirds with your hand, you'll see the colors of the other part are just as light. The red of my version only "looks like pink" because the red part doesn't span the entire width of the flag. SiBr4 (talk) 22:40, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- I've kept the old version as File:Nuvola Italy flag alternative.svg. SiBr4 (talk) 12:58, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
The "why" should be pretty obvious: The filename says "Nuvola". It's an icon theme that follows a specific characteristic style, and coloring is an essential aspect of that. Nuvola is what used to give Linux desktops that distinguished jazzy look with various bright and saturated colors all over. You dulling those colors destroy exactly that. We don't care what the official colors of Italy are. This here should be Nuvola style, not Italy style. It's about this thing called artistic freedom. Calling your stuff "Nuvola" is wrong, maybe even violating the content license. (So, it's definitely not David's original version that should be called "alternative".)--Reseletti (talk) 17:49, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
