Descripció

[modifica]És ovípar amb ous demersals i adhesius, i larves pelàgiques.[5][6]
Alimentació
[modifica]Menja principalment larves d'insectes aquàtics i invertebrats bentònics.[7]
Depredadors
[modifica]És depredat per Ptychocheilus oregonensis, Coregonus clupeaformis, Salvelinus malma, Salvelinus namaycush i Mergus merganser americanus.[8][9]
Hàbitat
[modifica]És un peix demersal i de clima temperat (60°N-32°N).[2][10]
Distribució geogràfica
[modifica]Es troba a Nord-amèrica: conques pacífiques des de Seward (Alaska) fins al riu Ventura (Califòrnia).[2][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][5][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29]
Longevitat
[modifica]La seua esperança de vida és de 7 anys.[30]
Ús comercial
[modifica]És massa petit i molt difícil de capturar en grans quantitats com per a ésser emprat com a aliment o en qualsevol altra cosa. Tot i així, els exemplars grossos són bons com a esquers i una menja excel·lent.[31][32]
Observacions
[modifica]És inofensiu per als humans.[2]
