privacy
[edit]i removed privacy material as too long for wiki. pls keep material concise and relevant. 2001:558:6004:2:6CCE:DE91:D361:31B (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 16:05, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
I restored NPOV content and removed rambling and largely irrelevant material. I am sure privacy advocates make a good point, but the material cited needs to be sourced to JLENS. Suggest this material be included in separate article on privacy. Please use this talk page to discuss.Journalist1983 (talk) 03:53, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Did you see this version from a few days ago. I think that is what the above IP was referring to. I trimmed it down but you took it further. I agree it was less about JLENS and more about something else. The section will need close watch. -- GreenC 05:27, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Blimps in orbit?
[edit]Why does the article refer to these things being in "orbit?" They are not spacecraft. Perhaps "deployment" or "tour" would be more accurate and encyclopedic than the puzzling imagery created by the present description of their "orbits." Edison (talk) 04:18, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Each JLENS system, consisting of two aerostats, the surveillance system payloads themselves and supporting equipment, is referred to by Raytheon as an "orbit". (Also [1].) It has little to do with the conventional meaning of the term "in orbit" (which doesn't appear anywhere in the article). General Ization Talk 04:21, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
A blimp or not
[edit]Hi General Ization and others. Regarding the revert here, news media all call it a surveillance blimp, no? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:56, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- If they do, they're mistaken. The thing that took off across the countryside yesterday could be called a blimp, but by itself it's not a JLENS system. It'd be like calling a single plane the 101st Airborne Division. General Ization Talk 21:00, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Okay, my friend. Thank you. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:11, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
