Just a question... where did you find this classification of the genus? GRIN says it has only two species, A. donax and A. pliniana. The link you cited seems to provide no informations. Carnby

My references agree on 2-3 species; it is (unfortunately!) normal for conspicuous plants like these to pick up over a hundred synonyms each, mostly very obscure and never used by anyone other than the original author, but which have to be listed by IPNI - MPF 17:28, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We propose to expand the Giant Reed page to be a more comprehensive look at Arundo donax and to describe its impacts as an invasive species as seen in California. Please add information from other regions.
