Not merge with cAMP Receptor Protein
[edit]There was previously a suggestion (since Nov 2010) that we merge this with Cyclic AMP receptors. I have deleted this suggestion. The article on Cyclic AMP receptors describes a class of G-coupled protein receptors which are quite dissimilar from this bacterial protein. Both are justified in having separate pages. Merge with Catabolite Activator Protein
[edit]These are the same protein, and it's baffling that the two pages have gone on for an entire decade without a merge, to the point where I'm sure I must be missing something. Yet, on the CAP talk page, there this comment from 2008:
The CAP and CRP pages need to be merged as they are the American and European names for the same protein

So clearly this is not a new idea. What gives? 73.226.222.77 (talk) 06:16, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
