Marketing & PR Executive (full time)
Location: London/Hybrid
Salary: Up to £28,000 DOE

The marketing & PR executive is based in London, as part of the Official Charts brand team, reporting to the Director of Brand & Digital. The purpose of the role is to execute brand, PR and content marketing plans to deliver growth and engagement of the Official Charts brand audience, and its contribution to the wider business of the Official Charts Company.
This is a key role in a small, tight-knit, multi-skilled brand/content team with the scope to develop skills and an understanding of the music industry and chart history as it happens.
Brand Marketing
- Work with the Director of Brand & Digital to develop the Official Charts brand and digital audience through content, social media, SEO, PR, partnerships and commercial activity
- Develop and implement marketing activity to drive brand objectives, including brand authority awareness and relevancy, engagement of target audiences (particularly youth), video views, web traffic and data capture
- Maximise distribution of Official Charts content through all available channels – social, video, email, streaming platforms etc.
- Help bring to market and promote new digital developments e.g new site and functionality, new content offerings, charts and playlists
- Support development, delivery and ongoing promotion of new Official Charts brand extensions e.g. consumer product lines, live events
- Provide marketing support to commercial brand projects such as The Record Club, licensing deals (jukeboxes, broadcast shows), new product launches and online store
- Work with the department director to deliver and maximise results of marketing partnerships, ensuring all agreed marketing and activation is delivered on time and budget
- Work with the Director of Brand & Digital to commission and develop branding, marketing materials and assets for all platforms. Act as custodian of the brand, ensuring all brand materials and external usage of the brand is in line with brand guidelines
- Compile analytics reports for marketing and content activity
- Liaise and develop relationships with labels, PRs, media and commercial partners to deliver on brand objectives
PR and Communications
Coordinate Official Charts’ PR activity:
- Handle incoming media enquiries, service media with stories, info, key messaging, spokespeople
- Proactively co-ordinate weekly awards PR activity, including liaison with artist teams, content team and logistics
- Generate and develop PR ideas to raise profile of the Official Charts and the Official Charts media brand
- Create and sub-edit PR materials e.g press releases, social media assets
- Liaise with Operations and relevant consultants to source and verify data and chart feats
- Organise and assist on shoots as required
- Police use of the Official Charts brand through discussion with journalists and licensing customers to ensure consistent messaging, crediting and use of the branding
- Maintain and grow press mailing list
- Maintain good relationships with journalists, PRs, label contacts, stakeholders and partners and day-to-day contact
- Monitor and evaluate Official Charts PR coverage
Social Media
- Work with the brand team to develop Official Charts’ social media presence and its contribution to business objectives
- Driving awareness of the channels, community growth/engagement, video views and social traffic
- Some hands-on social support where required e.g copy and asset creation, post scheduling, moderation
- Research and make suggestions to the team on relevant new trends, tools and opportunities as they emerge
CRM
- Manage delivery of weekly newsletters and email alerts (e.g Breaking News, interest-based alerts)
- Grow the Official Charts mailing list, managing competitions, promotions, and other data capture activity. Co-ordinate the fulfilment and reporting of such activity.
General Brand and Digital team support
- Content support where required e.g website copy for competitions, SEO copy etc
- Maintenance of consumer-facing chart archive
- Image/pack shot sourcing and editing
- Reporting bugs/issues with the website
- Innovation - keep abreast of new technology and how it could be used to help us meet brand and digital objectives
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of marketing experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop relationships at all levels internally and externally
- A sound knowledge and passion for music, film, and internet culture
- Organised with meticulous attention to detail
- Bringing bags of initiative, you’ll be a self-motivated, results-focused problem-solver
- Inquisitive and analytical, enjoys research and digging into data
- Creative eye
- IT Skills – Excel / Word / Outlook
- Creative skills advantageous – video editing, graphic design, photography, Photoshop, Canva etc
- Flexible working available, must be able to work in London office 2-3 days/week and occasional weekends

Chart Operations Executive

The Official Charts Company is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Operations Executive with a head for numbers and an understanding of how data rules the business.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the role of Chart Operations Executive is to support the efficient running of the operations department. The Chart Operations Executive acts as a central position both internally and externally for general queries. The role will involve a combination of tasks which will allow the post holder to assume specific areas of responsibility as well as the opportunity to work with other members of the team on many other operational areas and projects across music and video home entertainment in the UK and internationally.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with gold standard supplier of charts and data to more than 120 music, film and TV companies in the UK, Ireland and France, as well as working with organisations including the BPI, ERA, the BRITs, BASE and many others besides.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Client Support
- First point of contact for general enquiries relating to the Official Charts
- Providing general support to subscribers of the Official Charts Online service
- Demonstrating systems to new clients / refresher sessions for existing subscribers
- Compilation of bespoke music charts for media clients
- Responsibility for identifying and recording chart facts and feats
Operations Administration
- Liaising with the Official Charts Company’s research agency on data and release matters
- On-going responsibility for maintaining and updating internal databases, reports and documentation
- Responsible for engaging with potential new retailers to join the Chart Panel
- On-going responsibility for operating Lightning: Live, the live music sales reporting procedure
Analysis & Reporting
- Utilising the Official Charts Online Service to resolve data requests
- High degree of data manipulation and interpretation to present entertainment market data in a clear and concise manner to client specifications
- Creation and compilation of bespoke data reports for both audio and video companies in the entertainment sector
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop interpersonal relationships at all levels of an organisation
- Strong Office skills, especially Excel skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated & ambitious team player
- A sound knowledge of music and film
- Working knowledge of database and statistical analysis software a plus
