Scarlett Burke(I)
- Producer
- Director
- Music Department
Born in Amarillo, Texas, Scarlett Burke began studying acting as well as writing songs on her mom's guitar at the age of 12 and has since written for Miranda Lambert, Shooter Jennings, Elle King, Nile Rogers, Hailey Whitters, Brian Kelly, Tyler Rich, Lindsay Ell, Garrett Hedlund and has composed music for some of the biggest campaigns in advertising; including Taco Bell's Chasing Gold ad starring Darren Criss, (which moved their stock price) as well as a triple spot Zillow campaign. Her scores have been nominated for "Best Country Music Track" and "Best Americana Artist" by the Production Music Association, and have been heard on countless Netflix, ABC, CBS, and Fox series. Her song "Howdy Christmas" with Hailey Whitters was listed as one of the top five best country songs of 2020. As an actor she's appeared on Showtime's Ray Donovan, Lethal Weapon on Fox, and TNT'S Animal Kingdom as well as a commercial with Christie Brinkley portraying Brinkley in the National Lampoons spoof for Infiniti QX60.
After years of auditioning for other projects, Burke jumped in the director's chair and created her own scripted podcast series. She is the co-creator, director, and executive producer of the first of its kind, scripted country music series, Make It Up As We Go (2022 Webby Best Series Honoree). She stars as the lead character Charlotte, an aspiring young songwriter who pursues a career in the music industry, alongside country luminaries like Miranda Lambert, Lindsay Ell, and Bobby Bones, as well as Billy Bob Thornton, Dennis Quaid, Craig Robinson and a who's who of the Nashville music scene. The podcast features an original soundtrack produced written and performed by the Texas native, including the songs "Gone in the Morning" and "Lovin' Heart" (ft. Garrett Hedlund) both of which she produced. The first season was a breakthrough show in the podcast space - and brought innovation to the world of Nashville (it was the first time A-list actors and musicians came together for a brand new realm of musical entertainment in the podcast realm). The success of the show and its music, pushed Scarlett to the front line of producing & songwriting in the ultra competitive, male-dominated writers rooms on Music Row. Until now only a small handful of female creators crossed over into the realm of writing & producing country music- Scarlett is poised to change this statistic and the game one song at a time.
