And the extremely disappointing and forced end made me regret the lost time. Slow action, weak script, bad cast. I didn't empathize with the characters at all. Who can believe such a story? And what is a story that cannot be believed? Science fiction? But this was supposed to be a thriller, not a science fiction movie. I didn't feel any thrill of any kind. Just boredom. Why have two children in a foreign country, with a foreign man, if you don't want to live in that country? I would have understood if it was one child, but why two?? And what was actually the problem of the wife, because of whom she wanted to leave back to her country? She couldn't stand her husband but she gave him a lot of money as a loan... why? And the questions can go on...

It delivers just some of thrills, when the lead actor embarks on a dark journey into the criminal underworld to retrieve his missing children. A parent's love is a great engine to get audiences on board with a thriller. There is plenty of thrillers letting the audience follow the story of a parental figure trying to keep their kid safe in a worst-case scenario. This one is not a particularly interesting movie, just still worth watching for fans of this type of light thrillers, it does provide the escapist entertainment it sets out to deliver. Not every movie needs to be a masterpiece that does something brand-new; sometimes, it's good enough to just deliver the goods in a popular gen and it doesn't seem so good acted either.

The movie could have been quite good, but there are so many things that happened which stayed unexplained. What's the reason for their divorce? Why his wife didn't ask for the custody without setting him up? When she took the kids in the middle of the night she gave them the injections they didn't feel? Then Pietro, he didn't hear the car coming at night in the middle of nowhere? He left the boat to the police officer just like that?! He didn't close the bag full of packages letting them fall on the street? Why did he actually fight with Nicola? There are too many questions and zero answers. Nothing in the story had developed, including the ending....

I can only say this is a loose remake of a Argentinian movie called the 7th floor. While the original was quite enjoyable, this supposed to be updated and expanded remake is little to no suspense at all, laughable bad scenes sometimes ( like one where he drops "bricks" from his bag in the middle of the street), but acting was OK, I guess.
Now I know I'm not gonna watch the latter Italian remake of Spanish movie Contratiempo, with the same main actor like in this one, it probably disastrous, I can bet. Netflix, please stop making any more remakes, it makes no sense any more, stop making bad movies.

I didn't look at reviews before watching this movie.
After watching it, I'm surprised ratings are 5.3/10.
I give 7/10.
Good storyline and twists.
Man and wife are in the middle of a bitter divorce and that includes children custody.
Plus the man has someone chasing him for collecting a lot of money from the man. Ultimatum given.
Threats
Then one night, his children disappear and man has to go to extraordinary lengths to find them. He is prepared to do everything possible to find them.
However man has to face a lot of dangers and dangerous people.
I like how the storyline developed.
The actor playing the role of the man desperately looking for his children is excellent !

Shot with a Hitchcockian feel, this movie had some really lovely edge of your seat moments, however, it is let down by an anti-climactic ending that doesn't make any sense. It feels like there needs to be more of a build up before it gets to the action. It feels like lazy writing. Without giving too much away, it is worth a watch for the riveting scenes, where the father has to do a drug run. Sadly, after that, the plot falls flat. At the end you are left a little confused, as everything is resolved very quickly and without much logic. The actors do the best with what they are given. I wasn't sorry I watched it, it just could have been so much better.

I dont understand why anabelle wallis's voice was dubbed in this. But anyway septimo or vanished in to the night is a new italian netflix film. A husband and wife are in the middle of a custody battle. The kids dont seem to know or care really. They go to staty with their father. The place is being renivated and mistake number one they are sleeping in a seperate building to hime and surprisingly the kids go missing, while getting them back he has to do a deal with a guy. He drops cock in the street and no one even seems to stop him for somereason. Acting not bad but a lot of things dont make sense in this.

6.7 stars.
This is the story of a desperate man with a wife and two children. Life is going great. Unfortunately, he has a few personal problems. What he doesn't realize is his personal problems have jeopardized everything he holds dear. I don't want to spoil it, so anything I say of the story will ruin it for you. I'm going to keep it light. This man seems happy, but he has run up some massive debts. His life spins out of control and he must perform a bunch of random acts and commit some crimes to get his life back in order. Then there is a major twist and he has to figure out how to manage the situation. Eventually, he may be the victor. That's all I got. I will say this started off great, then was good, then ok, then it was bad, then it recovered a little back to ok. I have to say it didn't end on a good note. Overall it was a bit below average. For me, average is 7.0. Enjoy.

"Disappointingly Tedious" aptly describes my experience with this film. From the onset, the movie struggles to establish any meaningful connection with its audience, burdened by shallow characters who lack depth and development. Despite the potential for intriguing arcs, each character remains one-dimensional, offering no real investment or empathy from viewers.
The storyline, intended to be the film's backbone, is weak and riddled with clichés. It meanders aimlessly, lacking the cohesive narrative needed to drive the plot forward. Key plot points feel forced, and subplots are either underdeveloped or abruptly abandoned, leaving a disjointed mess that fails to engage or excite.
As if the tedious progression wasn't enough, the movie culminates in a weird and unsatisfying ending. Rather than tying up loose ends or providing a thought-provoking conclusion, the finale feels rushed and poorly executed, raising more questions than it answers. It's as if the filmmakers themselves lost interest in the story they were telling.
In summary, this film is a disappointment on multiple fronts. With shallow characters, a weak story, and a bizarre ending, it's a tedious watch that fails to deliver on any of its promises. Save your time and skip this one.

First the Netflix description (at least in the U. S.) is somewhat misleading. It implies a grieving dad revenge actioner or mystery in the mold of Taken or The Postcard Killings. It isn't, it's more of a slow burn thriller focused on the interpersonal drama of a small cast of characters.
Even once you realize that and temper your expectations, the movie's not particularly interesting. None of the characters is sympathetic enough for you to care what happens to them. Without any character investment there's no real sense of threat or danger.
The big twist doesn't get enough time to breathe. It's introduced, it's perplexing for a moment, and then it's resolved right away. The movie's technically competent and decently performed but it fails to sustain any suspense or tension.

"Vanished into the Night" promised a gripping mystery thriller but unfortunately delivered a lackluster experience marked by poor writing, a weak plot, and an overall disappointing execution.
From the outset, the film struggles to find its footing. The writing is disjointed, leaving viewers confused rather than intrigued.
The plot, which should be the backbone of any good thriller, is riddled with holes and inconsistencies. Key story elements are either underdeveloped or entirely neglected, making it difficult to stay engaged. The film introduces several subplots but fails to tie them together coherently, leading to a messy and unsatisfying narrative.
The pacing of "Vanished into the Night" is another major flaw. Scenes drag on without purpose, and the buildup to supposed climaxes feels forced and anticlimactic. This lack of tension and suspense is particularly damaging for a genre that relies on keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.
Even the evening setting, which could have been used to create a haunting atmosphere, is squandered. The cinematography is uninspired, with poorly lit scenes that obscure rather than enhance the mood. The night sequences, instead of adding to the suspense, become a frustrating viewing experience due to their lack of clarity.
In terms of performances, the cast does their best with the material they're given, but even talented actors can't save a film with such fundamental flaws. The characters are one-dimensional, making it hard to invest in their fates or care about their journeys.
Overall, "Vanished into the Night" is a missed opportunity. It had the ingredients for a compelling thriller but fell short in almost every aspect. If you're looking for a captivating mystery, you might want to give this one a pass.

I am not even sure if that is what it would called. Even less so when we talk about "human life". So no pun intended - and the movie seems to know what we expect judging from the very first scene we get ... well you have to watch to understand what it does to us. Quite clever to say the least.
Now I had no idea this was a remake, this being released just the other day on Netflix. It popped up in my this may interest you and I just watched it! Even more so because I knew the two main actors! The man and the woman that is - like both of them! Great actors - and they are able to show that on screen here too.
But since there is an original, I really want to watch that too sometime soon - apparently it is different than this movie. I hope so ... because otherwise this would have revealed quite a lot ... let's seen then ... good twists too ... did not see certain things coming, but never really thought too much about them either.

Another boring, useless movie that contributes absolutely nothing to film - it was neither entertaining nor interesting in the slightest. The characters were so surface level that it was impossible to emotionally relate to them in any way- not to mention the acting for me, was very shallow? The "plot twist" was so expected and conventional, I wouldn't even consider it a plot twist. The amount of times I skipped through the scenes and missed no important plot details while doing so should give you an idea of the lack of substance in this film.
Cinematography was pretty.. that's it. Do not waste your time watching this film!

Svaniti Nella Notte, or Vanished Into the Night, is a weak thriller that tries hard to be clever, but ends up shallow and uninteresting.
The story follows Pietro, a father going through a difficult divorce, and with at debt with gamblers, that lost his children to kidnappers. To get them back, he has to pay the ransom.
A simplistic plot that just does not work. The story lacks throwing interesting ideas, and even most of the movie is idleness and boringness.
Then the midpoint throws a curveball: the kids are actually a-okay at their mother Elena's house. They know nothing about whatever happened, dismissing Pietro's inquiries as if he going insane. Elena herself has no recollection of them ever going with Pietro to his house in the first place.
Such curveball could have been a great plot twist, but fret not, the story quickly overturns its own twist with another oversimplistic fact that explains what the hell is going on. The last events are about Pietro trying to get out of the mess he is in and acting revenge.
Vanished Into the Night is below-average, at best. Though Riccardo Scamarcio's acting is up to standards, the stale storyline and non-sense twist is too much to bare.

"Warning: this movie is a masterclass in deception! It starts with a tantalizing teaser that grabs you by the popcorn-filled lapels and screams, "Thrills ahead!" But, spoiler alert, it's all a clever ruse! Once the initial excitement wears off, you'll be left wondering if you accidentally superglued your eyes to a snooze fest.
The plot promises a pulse-pounding adventure but delivers a snore-inducing slog. You'll be begging for a plot twist, any twist, to save you from the crushing boredom. Alas, it's as flat as a pancake. Don't be fooled by the title's promises of thrills and chills - it's a total lie! This movie is the cinematic equivalent of a participation trophy: it shows up, but that's about it. Save your sanity (and your snacks) and skip this snooze fest!"
