[edit]What does L stand for? "Ladies'"? 惑乱 分からん 23:03, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Name of the leagues?
[edit]What are the usual names of the league pyramid in the Latin alphabet? The introduction says "Japan Women's Football League" and "Nihon Joshi Sakkā Rīgu", but no mention of two terms used later on (and elsewhere in Wikipedia), L-League and L. League. Should these latter two names get added to the intro as alternative names? I know little about this league or I would make the change myself.

[edit]@Master Of Ninja: Is there any problem with these pages Nadeshiko League Division 1 and Nadeshiko League Division 2?, if there is any, please notify me. Josedimaria237 (talk) 20:28, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Josedimaria237: - hi! I've not had anything to do with this article previously. As you've asked nicely I've had a look. I can see why User:Seany91 proposed the articles for deletion/merging. From looking at them they repeat information in the main article (this one) so seem to be redundant pages. From reading it I would re-merge the sub-pages here. I personally would rename "Nadeshiko League" to "Japan Women's Football League" as this is what the official name is according to the article. I would make the intro as: "The Japan Women's Football League (Japanese: 日本女子サッカーリーグ, Nihon Joshi Sakkā Rīgu), known colloquially as the Nadeshiko League (Japanese: なでしこリーグ, Nadeshiko Rīgu), is the top flight of women's association football in Japan." I would move the rest of the intro to other places in the article. Maybe mention the WE League in the intro. There's a lot of information there that could be put on wikidata. Hope these suggestions may be helpful. Master Of Ninja (talk) 06:43, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Master Of Ninja: The article title being Nadeshiko League is because of WP:COMMONNAME, as English-language media generally refer to the league as such. IIRC this has been discussed in the past. Seany91 (talk) 09:30, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- No problems. Just a suggestion. Just to be aware I am not knowledgable about this topic. I don't think I have much else to add to this discussion except from what else I've said above. - Master Of Ninja (talk) 07:11, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

@Master Of Ninja: Okay thanks, this user @Seany91: created the page WE League without linking it here or making an edit here, that's why I went ahead to create those sub-pages, I never knew a new league relating to the Nadeshiko League had been created, if not I could have left it this way. Josedimaria237 (talk) 07:54, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Josedimaria237: Could you stop pinging me? As I've explained to you elsewhere, I don't understand why me having created WE League has any bearing on the discussion here or somehow requires me to edit another page. Seany91 (talk) 09:30, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Master Of Ninja: why I actually created it this way without finding any problems with it was to make it look like the J.League of which you can find the sub-pages; J1 League J2 League J3 League. also I didn't want a Nadeshiko league season page to be comprised of three 'sub' leagues. Josedimaria237 (talk) 08:08, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
@Josedimaria237: I've just done a thorough edit of the page. Hopefully that addresses your issues (even though I still don't really understand some of them). Seany91 (talk) 11:07, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
@Seany91: I've deleted the pages and expanding the 2020 Nadeshiko League, it'll be helpful if you could edit the Japanese football league system page..
Duplication not Common Name
[edit]@Seany91: Your reason for the proposed deletion is for duplication and not for WP:COMMONNAME which I agree, what I want you to understand is that before creating those sub-pages, I never knew there was a WE League page. Josedimaria237 (talk) 10:05, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- I really don't understand your logic here. My comment regarding common name was in response to the other user proposing to move this page to the league's official name. If you want to discuss proposed deletions, that needs to happen at the appropriate AfD, not here. Seany91 (talk) 10:24, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
