Klaus Schütz (17 September 1926 in Heidelberg[1] – 29 November 2012 in Berlin[2]) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD).

Biography

He was Mayor of West Berlin from 1967 to 1977,[1] and was President of the Bundesrat in 1967/68.[3] After his resignation he worked as German Ambassador to Israel until 1981 and Director General of the Deutsche Welle broadcaster from 1981 to 1987. He was also president of the German Red Cross.
