- to whitewash, to paint white (with lime)
- Synonym: vitkalka
- to whitewash, to make something appear cleaner or more orderly than it really is
- Den ena sidan vitmenar dem, urskuldar alla extrema yttranden och menar att de sedan länge tagit avstånd från våldet
- One side whitewashes them, pardons all extreme statements and means that they have long since distanced themselves from violence
