    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀳𑀢𑁆𑀣 (hattha), from Sanskrit हस्त (hasta), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *ȷ́ʰástas, from Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰós-tos. Cognate with Urdu ہاتھ (hāth).
