Distance from Moose Jaw
[edit]The article says that the lake is located "...approximately 28 kilometres (17 mi) north of Moose Jaw..."; however, this is not correct. Taking a measurement on Google Earth shows that the lake is approximately 23.5 km from the centre of Moose Jaw to the closest edge of the lake (as the crow flies). A Google Maps route says that it's 29.9 km to the lake (by road).
It seems to me that this page should reflect the direct distance and not one by road; but, before I edit the page I wanted to ask the other editors of this page how the distance was established (it's not in the citations as far as I can see).
Lastly, the Buffalo Pound Lake Land Use and Resource Management Plan states that the lake is approximately 20 km from Moose Jaw; which might be the distance from MJ city limits. Also, the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency reports the distance as 30 km. Christopher Rath (talk) 23:58, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- You can be bold and make the change. I've done some work to this article but that 28km was in long before I ever came along. Masterhatch (talk) 01:35, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- I looked back in the history and that 28km was added without reference by an IP in Feb 2010. So, feel free to change it. Masterhatch (talk) 01:39, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
