Dragoneer was an artist, webmaster, fursuiter, and fandom influencer who was the owner of Fur Affinity from 2007 to 2015, and then from 2021 until his passing in 2024.

Fandom involvement[edit]

Dragoneer served on the Northeast Anthropomorphic Association board of directors, where he helped to organize and run the FA: United convention when it was in operation. He was married to fellow furry Sciggles until their separation in April 2016.

Fur Affinity[edit]

Dragoneer was the owner of Ferrox Art, LLC, which operated Fur Affinity from 2007 to 2015. Dragoneer joined the site in 2005 roughly two months before its initial demise due to server problems.[clarify]

Having fallen in love with the community, he worked with then-FA owner Alkora to help bring the site back online. He was appointed lead administrator upon the site's return. Eventually, he went on to take full ownership of the website in October 2007,[5] purchasing the site for $2,500.[citation needed]

Dragoneer served as Fur Affinity's community manager for IMVU, which acquired Fur Affinity in January 2015. He served in this capacity until February 1, 2021, when he purchased the site back from them and placed the website under the operation of a new company called Frost Dragon Art, LLC.[6]

Characters[edit]

  • Murasadramon - Murasadramon is a purple and orange Data-type Digimon. His species is primarily a hybrid of Guilmon and ExVeemon combined. Although it does seem to resemble Monodramon a lot, In battle, Murasadramon uses plasma and electrical-based attacks, preferring melee combat to long-range. The character is sometimes drawn in an alternative Digivolution which sports black armor and leather straps.
  • Preyfar - Preyfar is a hyena, primarily grey with a blue to purple tint to his coat. A pair of welding goggles accompany his rivet-head style of dress, the eyewear his most notable trademark appearance. He's usually seen wearing a fishnet shirt, pants with orange racing stripes, and a custom pair of toe-less leather footwear.
  • His other characters are Eel, Siodan and Kradramon.

Art[edit]

Dragoneer was primarily known for his Digimon-themed artwork, and his style leans towards mature and adult imagery, preferring to keep his clean artwork separate from the fandom. His images generally feature characters of draconic or reptilian nature.

Illness and death[edit]

On August 6, 2024, under the care of the University of Virginia Health System ('UVA), Dragoneer died from respiratory complications,[7] as he stated In the Fur Affinity's Telegram chat on July 30, 2024, either caused by:

(for months before medical intervention, Dragoneer struggled with high fever and chronic cough, one possible explanation being blastomycosis).

In response to his passing, the Fender's FA account announced on the site that:

Furry artist, musician, and fursuiter Halfshell (Halfshell Hero) claims to be a 7th cousin once removed of Dragoneer himself, as per FamilySearch.org.[citation needed][8]
