editLearned borrowing from Old Javanese duh (“juice, sap, oil”), from Proto-Malayo-Polynesian *zuʀuq (“sap, juice”). Doublet of juruh.
- Construction of duh tubuh is a semantic loan from Dutch lichaamssap (“bodily fluid”, literally “body sap”). However, contemporary term for bodily fluid is cairan tubuh.
