Hello, in french

edit

we call "aiguière" that seljuk (or any other style) ewer, mainly used to wash hands before eating.

An erthenware or pewter jug is for us a "pichet". At the restaurant, instead of an expensive (and often too abundant) bottle of wine, we often ask for a half or quarter of litre "pichet" of plain french wine.

A "broc" is a big porcelain jug we used to find on a toilet-stand, in every bed-room - or the huge corrugated iron jack you could find in rustic lavatories, either on the house landing or away at the farthest end of the garden : its contents was used to wash away the excrements, and of course you had to refill it afterwards...T.y.
