* ե, ո and և are pronounced as [jɛ], [vɔ] and [jɛv], respectively, at the beginning of the word. Also, յ is pronounced as [h] word-initially in Traditional Armenian orthography.
**ւ is used only in Traditional Armenian orthography.
Note: ու is a digraph and և is a ligature in Traditional Armenian orthography. In Reformed Armenian Orthography those are considered independent letters.
