فَتِئَ (fatiʔa) I (non-past يَفْتَأُ (yaftaʔu), verbal noun فَتْء (fatʔ))

  1. to cease, to stop [with عَنْ (ʕan)]
  2. (copulative, in the negative) to still do
    Synonyms: مَا بَرِحَ (mā bariḥa), مَا زَالَ (mā zāla), مَا ٱنْفَكَّ (mā nfakka)
    مَا فَتِئَتِ ٱلْكُتُبُ مِفِيدَةً.
    mā fatiʔati l-kutubu mifīdatan.
    The books are still useful.
