Hi Htonl, since you have an interest in maps I though you might like to know about the newly created Wikimaps User Group.--Discott (talk) 14:44, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, yes, definitely something I am interested in! Cheers, htonl (talk) 14:54, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

I recently became aware that same-sex marriage is no longer considered to be a human right, something that apparently it once was (per Amnesty International) but it never was by United Nations (though it was mistakenly viewed as being a human right). I like the way you wrote it to accommodate the reality of the situation. I think it recognises it fairly well. It is considered to be a right per LGBT lobbyists but in world terms it is not considered to be a right. This may be related to the fact that most of the world still considered homosexuality a crime, and some parts of the world still have the death penalty for being gay. A human right, globally, is something that is considered to be important to the world, but many parts of the world don't want it at all. There's a lot written about this, and fundamentally there's no reason why you need to be able to be married. Your life doesn't depend on being able to be married, though it may depend on being able to have homosexual sex. Anyway, thanks for fixing this up. I like the way you wrote it. I was getting quite frustrated with how to write it properly so thank you for fixing it. Mister Sneeze A Lot (talk) 14:06, 16 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

South African Elections during the 19th century

IIRC you already got in touch with Wikipedia:WikiProject Elections and Referendums/Elections and referendums, which has still some gaps regarding the topic mentioned above. SO, at the moment just a general question, are you interested in that toppic, and if, yes, would have access to libraries in South Africa?--Antemister (talk) 13:58, 31 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Greater Johannesburg

Re your removal of the 1996 census def. For me actually that definition is more or less the same as the GJMC area, but for relatively minor boundary changes. At the AfD though one person argued otherwise. Regards, Batternut (talk) 15:56, 26 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Htonl. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
