Correction
editSejeong city is not to replace Seoul as capital, but to serve as a secondary city with major administrative functions. The seat of government and the home of the president will remain in Seoul. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.253.87.141 (talk) 06:12, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
lcation
editOur article says it will be near Daejeon. The KT article of Sept.26/27 puts it "under construction in an area between Yeongi County and Gongju city...."Kdammers (talk) 02:50, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
Location
editThe location shown in the map is not very exact. I think the coordinates are (36.511313, 127.309556). They can be entered like this in google maps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.188.99.208 (talk) 15:07, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Map
editThe label on the map says the location of the city is highlighted. I cannot see any highlighting on the map! Kdammers (talk) 02:33, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Capital?
editThe article begins one sentence with "The capital...," referring to Sejong. This is not explained. Is this a correct designation? I doubt it, but if correct, we need a reference for the official transfer from Seoul.Kdammers (talk) 02:40, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Move of government agencies
editAs the article refers to a move by 2015 can it be updated to reflect the (2016) present? Jackiespeel (talk) 15:52, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

administrative division
editSejong Special Self-governing Government was established under the jurisdiction of all areas of Yeongi-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Janggi-myeon, Gongju-si, Uijang-myeon, Banpo-myeon, and Buyong-myeon, Cheongwon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do in July 2012. At the time of installation, 14 sections of long-term-myeon and Uijeongmyeon were integrated into the general-myeon, while Bu Yong-myeon, Nam-myeon, Seo-myeon, and Dong-myeon of Yeongi-gun were renamed as Yeongi-myeon, Yeonseo-myeon, and Yeon-dong-myeon. Five of Banpo-myeon were added to Geumnam-myeon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gxroh (talk • contribs) 13:13, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
About the year Sejong was founded
editThere’s no citation for the country being founded in 2007? And every source I’ve looked at says it was founded in 2012? 2601:246:4A80:52A0:C900:63FF:8258:1FAC (talk) 22:07, 18 May 2023 (UTC)

- The result of this discussion was to merge. 三葉草 San Yeh Tsao 00:37, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
I propose merging Yeongi County into Sejong City. Yeongi County was incorporated into Sejong in 2012, and makes up most of Sejong. It also doesn't have much content and I doubt it will be expanded. 三葉草 San Ye Cao 23:47, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. toobigtokale (talk) 03:49, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support I agree. This is because Sejong City was launched on July 1, 2012 by incorporating the entire Yeongi-gun in Chungcheongnam-do, part of Gongju-si, and part of Cheongwon-gun in Chungcheongbuk-do, respectively. In other words, Sejong City is a city that has all the elements of Yeongi-gun.[1] Hkm5420 (talk) 13:44, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 07:27, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
