rewrite
editI suspect that this article was ripped from here: http://www.sfzoo.org/about/pool.htm I rewrote it a bit to reduce possible copyright problems, and, I hope, improve encyclopedianess.
I can't find any reference to Esther Williams using the pool except for this one zoo page, so I took her name out. Photos of Weismuller and Ann Curtis using the pool are available on the web. Note that that sfzoo.org page incorrectly calls Ann Curtis a "movie star of the 20's and 30's" when she was actually a swimming star of the 40's. Doctormatt 21:38, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Since the Zoo benefited from the demolition of the pool (it became its parking lot), any information from the Zoo needs to If the Zoo wasn't the source, then that source needs to be cited. I have found several biased and incorrect statements from the zoo site, so I deleted information that was incorrect in this article too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aloharadke (talk • contribs) 05:42, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Dimensions
editActually, this page is wrong af far as dimensions go:
Wood River, IL. had a pool built in 1926 which measured 300 ft x 100 ft. Making it much larger (300X15) 4500 sq. feet larger. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.8.202.103 (talk) 09:53, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- No, the given dimensions are given in metres, not feet. I'll fix it. Graham87 13:00, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
