View your data regions status reports

As an administrator, you can use the data regions reporting dashboard to verify that your data is stored or processed as expected according to the data regions settings that you have set up.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and thenReportingand thenApps Reportsand thenData regions.

What do the status icons mean?

The status icons let you know if your data region settings are behaving in accordance with your service level agreement.

Status icon Definition
Data is stored or processed according to the configured policy
Data storage or processing policy has not been configured or there is no applicable data
Data storage or processing has an error. Click the icon for more details. 

 

Note: Data regions reports might not reflect policy changes made less than 48 hours ago. 

What data is included in the basic and advanced data regions reports?

Depending on the version of data regions that you have, the data regions reporting dashboard includes either basic report cards or both basic and advanced report cards containing the following information:

Basic report cards
Versions How many users are covered by each data regions version (None, Fundamentals, Enterprise, Assured Controls)
Policies How many users are covered by data region policies, by region
Data at rest Whether data is stored according to the configured policy
Advanced report cards *
Data processing Whether data is processed according to the configured policy
Data at rest (by resource type)

Whether data is stored according to the configured policy, broken down by resource type (Gmail messages, Chat messages, Drive files, and so on)

Data processing (by resource type) Whether data is processed according to the configured policy, broken down by resource type

How often is the reporting dashboard updated?

The dashboard is typically updated approximately every 12 hours. If you change a data regions policy, the dashboard can take up to 48 hours to update.
