Boshnyak receives a new task - to investigate Pushkin's participation in a conspiracy and a series of murders. Boshnyak, together with police chief Donnikov, travels to Mikhailovskoye and discovers traces of Caroline there. Lavr Petrovich arrives with bloodhounds at Ushakov's estate, but finds only the corpse of the village elder. Donnikov informs Boshnyak that he has orders to arrest Karolina. Boshniak understands that he cannot allow this to happen and decides to save his beloved. See less
