Bob, a handsome cowboy, secures employment, and the new arrival wins the girl's affection. Inflamed with jealousy, Art plans the downfall of his rival and also to secure money for himself. The foreman goes to the bank, and Art plies Bob with liquor. He then holds up the foreman, and rejoins Bo, who is innocently holding the horses, tells him he has played a joke on the boys, and they gallop away. After traveling a long distance they dismount, and Bob falls asleep, and Art makes his escape. The pursuing posse finds Bob, and he convinces them of his innocence. Art is overtaken and gets over a chasm hand over hand on a lariat. Bob follows and overpowers Art after a desperate struggle, just as the cowboys, who have made a detour, arrive on the scene.
