It is the story about an immigrant who came to America from Africa, in the hope for a better life. We accompany him as he spends a cold January night homeless wandering through the snowed in streets of NYC. Each time that a passenger refuses to give him money, he lights a match. With each flame we are transported back into the man's memories of Africa, to when he was getting ready for his big trip to America, in the hope for a richer, fuller and happier life: A world in stark contrast with the harsh reality that surrounds him. The film is a homage to Africa, its colors, beauty and sounds.
